For Open Link Night #285: On This Day
and women of the world
If I was to speak of you words would fail me.
So much deeds by your race go unspoken
So I’ll have to search before the very beginning
And if I chose to sing of the beauty of your grace
I would want justice to the much that time erase
To remain faceless in the minds of men
If my words were to make the earth recall
Of the strength and fragility in her daughters
In the life they bare and the burdens they care
Then I would rest soundly having done a part
In making known of the existence of a rare breed
Of humans, looked down upon yet crowned in honor.
