What else to do?

Now is before not yet gone

kuoobiediaries’ six words

What ‘ll it be to trade over a yonder past?
Where new tacts replaced the old acts,
Will it be the hand washing or the masks?
The solo dancing or the lonely tracks?
The inside baking for the outside catering,
Window laughing for hugging and pecking?
Am yet to choose of what to loose
When I’m set, I’ll climb down my horse
Bid byes to the shoal, and take my shoes
From whence incessant they’ve hunged,
since I mopped the floor and shut the door.
But what’s earned is mine to hold:
To live to mold, to grow to love.
What else to do in a changing world?

  1. WOW. I am stunned speechless. You really have a unique style and I enjoyed reading your work very much! The descriptions alone build some intriguing imagery and detail:

“Window laughing for hugging and pecking?
Am yet to choose of what to loose
When I’m set, I’ll climb down my horse
Bid byes to the shoal, and take my shoes
    From whence incessant they’ve hunged…”

I love this so much. Brilliant and amazing work.

  2. A rhythmic and rhyming exploration of our current situation, which gets us wondering what is in store in the future. I am nervous about coming out of a year’s shielding. I’ve seen what the outside world is like on the television, had a few trips to the doctor, and my husband describes it to me, but I still don’t know what to expect. I love that you included the inside baking and outside catering!

    1. Kim… I can identity with your fears. We’ve been inside for so long we almost got used to its comfort and ‘safety’. But at some time we’ll have to brave stepping out. I bet it’ll resemble a toddler’s walk.

Hope your trips to the doctor bore fruits.
